Artist Statement
I wish to inspire mankind’s imagination to take culture itself beyond our knowledge of science and technology so we can all be at peace together. I approach it by using an abstract expressionistic concentration, using old new and experimental techniques. All I ask of anyone that looks at my artwork is to see the struggle taking place in each piece and the balance that holds it together.
Artist Biography
by Chad Rasmussen
I am 31 years of age and I have recently moved here from Flint, Michigan.
I am recently attending my second semester at Hofstra to get my Masters in Art Therapy.
I decided on this because I eventually want to get a PhD in Psychology and practice art and psychology together so I can understand the human mind and emotion better.
I am also continuing to get a formal art education at Hofstra by taking graduate painting courses. I have studied art history on my own and my idols are Van Gough, Monet, and Jackson Pollack. They are like the Mozarts and Beethovens of Painting to me.
I feel that my work can stand on its own as highly innovative with a spark from the past.
