I learned photography using my grandfather's russian camera which he had since 1956. Now forty years later, I use a NIKON D300 digital camera. All the photographs in my web page are SOOC (straight out of camera). I don't use filters, flash, or editing software. I focuse on organic patterns and vivid colors using a 70mm macro lens. I dive into the objects to uncover how they are made inside.

The photos are x-rays of items from the farmer's market like flowers, tomatoes or peppers, that expose their internal structure and color patterns. The variations are dramatic and endless and show the beauty and complexity of the familiar products seen in a different way.

My studio is a sunny window with a southern exposure. Bright sunlight is perfect to bring out the vivid colors and unusual forms.
