Mark E. Perry is a painter residing in New York City. Born and raised in Providence R.I., Mr. Perry studied Portraiture and Life Drawing at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) evening division, while working for ten years as an electrical draftsman for CE Maguire, an architectural engineering firm.

In 1987, Mr. Perry entered the Providence Art Club’s “Open Painting Show” and won the Milton Halladay prize for a portrait of a woman. He also worked privately with a small group of local artists on a weekly basis through most of his twenties.

In 1989, Mr. Perry moved to NYC and continued drawing from the live model at The Society Of Illustrator’s and the Spring St. Studio. In the mid-ninety’s Mr. Perry started spending time in Amagansett creating many beach paintings and landscapes. In addition to the landscape genre he has also done a three dimensional body of work and many still life paintings.

Currently he is using photography to continue his explorations of large scale “close-ups” of landscapes in the studio.
